FAQs
shipping
All ceramics are shipped with tracking, either through Sendle or Australia Post. All international & interstate pieces are sent with bubblewrap, an inner cardboard box, more cushioning and the outer cardboard box. Items sent within Victoria are usually the same, unless I feel they are packed well enough and don’t need an inner boxing.
can i pick up my order?
YES! Pick up is in Brunswick, most days, except Tuesday - anytime after 3PM. Shoot me an email to arrange a pick up time - hello@peychi.com - please note that pick up orders do not come with boxes.
returns, refunds or exchange
I do not accept returns or exchanges.
I will refund any item that has been damaged through the shipping process, please email me with photo evidence. but I will not refund the shipping cost - as this is out of pocket.
ceramic care instructions
As each of my ceramics have been made by hand, please take care of them and hand wash. Follow instructions as per listing. If your listing has noted that it is not food safe, please adhere to my caution! Stoneware items are dishwasher and microwave safe. Earthenware items are NOT recommended for food, NOT dishwasher or microwave safe.
how do you make your ceramics?
all of my ceramics are hand built by me. I do not throw them on a wheel, or make them out of molds. I either pinch, slab or coil build my pieces one by one. I hand paint each piece using underglaze, and then fire once to 1100C. Then I glaze them, and fire to a suitable glaze temperature.
will you be making a certain ceramic again?
yes! i will usually try my best to cycle between certain ceramic characters that people seem keen on. it just depends what i’m feeling like week to week!
what are seconds?
Ceramics marked as “seconds” have flaws which are usually noted in the about section of each item. Please be careful with these items! Treat them with care and they should stay special.
custom orders / preorders?
I do not take preorders, but if you’re really keen on a special project, please email me at hello@peychi.com
on sustainability
When packing your orders, I try to reuse any cardboard boxes and bubble wrap that I happen upon. I use biodegradable packing peanuts made out of corn or wheat starch, and butcher paper. I either use paper bubble wrap or secondhand bubblewrap I have collected from friends/family. I use cute paper tape to tape up your boxes.
There’s something super magical about making something, practically out of nothing, and knowing it’ll hopefully have a place in your home for years - decades even - to come.
i heard you’re chronically ill?
yes! this is true. I have been going through something called topical steroid withdrawal since October 2014. It paints my everyday, so I don’t shy away from it. It has quite an effect on my energy levels, so this means that I just have to take things a bit slower than most people. Some days I have more energy, and others I have to take a step back. That is why I feel so grateful to be able to make and sell ceramics for an income, it allows for me to be autonomous, to work on my own terms, make my own hours and rest when I need to. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
